February Vacation

February Vacation is less than a week away. It sounds like there will be a bunch of club members doing fishing-related stuff with their time off. I've heard plans of fishing the Swift River, ice-fishing in New Hampshire, and several people are headed to someplace warm for some fishing.
Belize: Are the bonefish really so thick you can catch them off the dock? They are where Sam was fishing.

If you find yourself hanging around home, here are a few suggestions to keep yourself busy:

  • New England Boat Show will be taking place February 14 - 22 at the Boston Convention and Exhibit Center. It is a great venue, and best part is that it can be reached by public transportation. For more information visit the show website: http://naexpo.com/boatshow/flash_hompage.html

  • On Tuesday (Feb 17) night at the Memorial Hall Library in Andover, the film Reel People: Fishermen of Plum Island will be shown and the filmmaker will be on hand to discuss the film and answer questions. The show is free and will start at 7pm. Visit the Memorial Hall Library for details: http://www.mhl.org/about/events/hall/2009/fish_on_2009.htm

  • Get organized for the 2009 season! This is a great time to take inventory of your gear. Give some TLC to those reels, re-stock the tackle box, put new line on reels, tie some flies, etc.

Have a great vacation!
